In what might very well have been the highlight of the '72 European tour, the Dead stormed into the formidable Newcastle City Hall - a venue with "all the warmth of a witch's teat" - and made it burn red hot with an 18-song first set and a monster second, which included a massive Good Lovin', 20-minute Truckin', and half-hour Other One. Listen to the entire amazing performance at Grateful Dead of the Day.
Brightening up a dark and rainy day and making up for the heavy police presence, the Dead played a rocking show on this date in '87. On what was the last evening of a three-night run at the intimate UIC Pavilion, the boys delivered a tasty Desolation Row, haunting Terrapin, and classic late 80s Truckin'> Wharf Rat> Throwing Stones> NFA out of Space. Give the entire show a listen.
