Only University of Vermont students could get tickets to the show on this day back in 1983, but that did not stop the Dead from throwing down (or a few non-UVM Heads from sneaking in). On a night when Brent was killing it, he busted out the first Maybe You Know in the midst of a heady second set, which included an insane Scarlet> Fire opener, an Estimated> Eyes, and - to top it all - a transcendent Morning Dew out of Space. Listen to the entire show at Grateful Dead of the Day.
Jerry and Bobby made their first appearance on the new David Letterman Show on this day back in 1982. Dave taught Jerry to play Proud Mary, Bobby was on some psychedelics (shocking!), Jerry joked about having a foggy memory of the Sixties (also shocking), and the duo played Deep Elem Blues and Monkey and the Engineer. Watch the entire 15-minute segment.
