You know it will be a huge night when Bobby lets out a joyous scream after the opening Cold Rain and Snow. And things just get more intense from there, culminating in a sublime Dancin'> Lovelight> NFA> Lovelight. David Crosby, stood behind the stage in blissful, smiling awe as he listened, and so will you. Get on over to Grateful Dead of the Day and treat your ears right!
On yet another tremendous night in Rochester, the Dead played a dance-heavy monster of a show that will leave you grinning from ear to ear. What's more is that in the middle of the second set, just as a magnificent He's Gone comes to a close and the boys seem to be grasping for the next song, Bobby takes to the mic and delivers a whole new tune, comprised of just two verses. Played just three times, Bob Star, or Little Star, was a rough gem that could have been polished into a thing of beauty. Give the Bob Star and the entire show a listen.
It is always a treat to have an early 80s complete Dead show on video, and with this 1982 date, with its heady Scarlet> Fire, Estimated> He's Gone, and Truckin'> Morning Dew out of Space, it is extra special. Take it all in at Grateful Dead of the Day.
