I am not sure what to think. Yesterday, we accidentally sent out the Nugs for today, April 30th. And nobody seemed to notice but one faithful and close reader, one John Henry, who emailed us. :)
Anyway, today, I will get you all caught up on the shows from yesterday, April 29th. And if you want today’s shows, just go back to yesterday’s Nugs. Hope that all wasn’t too confusing!
The boys closed out a sensational five-night run - and their East Coast spring tour - at the Fillmore on this day in 1971. They got the show going with Truckin' and kept steaming through the night, including on an elemental Bird Song. But the crux of the evening is a raging Stephen tease sandwiched inside an Alligator> Jam> GDTRFB> Cold Rain and Snow. Sit back and take in the entirety of this gem at Grateful Dead of the Day.
On the first night of the Palladium run that would take them into May '77, the boys put up a marvelous night of music, beginning with a Help> Slip> Franklin's and continuing with a monster Sugaree and the oh-so rare Scarlet> GDTRFB. Continue listening to spring tour '77.
