In the mountains of Colorado back in 1987, the Dead played a nearly flawless, quintessential late-80s show with a second set that will absolutely blow your mind. Shakedown cracks open the action on this Portland night in ‘81, and the first set goes out just as strong with Jerry tearing up a CC Rider and delivering a magnificent Althea before a mesmerizing Let It Grow. The second half has its share of highlights too, including an alluring To Lay Me Down - ripe with beautifully meditative jams - a lengthy Terrapin, and a dark and existential Black Peter.
