What you have here is a little under-appreciated night of blissful music from the Dead in 1981. The Althea> Rooster and Let It Grow are simply mesmerizing in the first set. And the second is a bag of joyous surprises with a massive jam in The Wheel and a tasty Spanish Jam in addition to Brent's Never Trust A Woman and an always heady Truckin'> Wharf Rat. Head on over to Grateful Dead of the Day and groove to the entire show.
Howard Wales joins some of the boys for an incredible hour and a half of music, including an epochal 47-minute Dark Star at the Family Dog on this night in 1969, and it is simply not to be missed. Listen to the entire mesmerizing set and read more about the night.
