If you dig primal Dead - and who doesn’t? - this 1968 show is going to blow your mind. There is a ridiculous Alligator that puts you in the swamp with the old beast strutting next to you. And that heads right into a Caution that delivers more unbelievable, face-melting music, eventually devolving into what has to be one of the best Feedback Jams ever; this thing is downright mesmerizing with some serious seismic, freak-out activity. But that is just three of the tunes from this phenomenal night. Give it all a listen at Grateful Dead of the Day.
Happy birthday to Carl Wilson of the Beach Boys. Him and his bandmates joined the Dead on stage back in 1971. In honor of Carl, listen to that show and read more about the Beach Boys and the Dead.
