With a snowstorm raging outside, the Dead played another stellar show at the Dane on this day in 1981. A rare and funky electric Deep Elem, a sweet Althea, and a sensational TLEO, with Brent and Jerry exchanging riffs, helped warm up the Heads in attendance during the early going. Out of the break, things got scorching as the boys set up a classic Scarlet> Fire> Estimated> He's Gone. There is also a tender as all get out Baby Blue encore. Listen to it all at Grateful Dead of the Day.
And that show from the Dane County Coliseum is available on video, remastered with a crisp soundboard. Watch it all over on the site.

Thanks for the '81 Scarlet-Fire video. Loved Jerry turning around to his rig at about 10:00 and then remembering ---Oh yeah, I'm soloing.
