The 1987 show is best known for the one and only Dead version of the Beatles' Get Back. But there is some beautiful playing - though maybe not on the aforementioned tune - throughout the night. Just check out Jerry's lovely guitar work on Row Jimmy and Black Muddy River, Brent's and the drummers' contributions that key the runs in Eyes, and the vamping-heavy jam at the end of He's Gone. In fact, give it all a good listen at Grateful Dead of the Day.
And watch the Dead open up that 1987 with Shakedown Street and the rest of the first set with this video from the San Francisco Civic Auditorium.
