From Grateful Dead of the Day
On Friday the 13th back in 1984, the Dead broke out Dark Star at the Greek, marking the only time they played the tune between 1981 and 1989. The boys also played a righteous Scarlet> Touch> Fire, a monster Stella Blue, and more. Give the show a good listen at Grateful Dead of the Day.
Like some cosmic stroke of serendipity, although we are talking about the Grateful Dead around whom these sorts of things happened regularly, Owsley met the love of his life, Sheilah Manning, who worked for the Dead ticket office, during the Dark Star breakout at today's show in 1984.
