On this day in 1972, the Dead played a three-set face-melting masterpiece, just their third show back from Europe and second without Pigpen. The boys warp time on a sick Playin' and roar through 40+ minutes of Truckin'> Dark Star, but every single tune in this show will blow you away. The glories of summer tour continue with the show from Deer Creek on this day in 1990. In one of his last nights with the boys, Brent sparkles throughout. But so does the entire band, beginning with an always welcome Help> Slip> Franklin’s opener. The second set is just off the charts from top to bottom, especially the lengthy Terrapin jam into Drums with The Other One> Morning Dew on the other side.
