Shakedown kicks off a tremendous show at Red Rocks on this day in '82. An otherworldly Althea in the second half gets things going before a resplendent Let It Grow, which itself segues into He's Gone> Truckin'. There is also a sweet Spanish Jam on the back end of Space before they close things out with a righteous NFA> Black Peter> Sugar Mags. In front of a crowd 600,000 strong, the Dead played Summer Jam at Watkins Glen along with The Band and The Allman Brothers on this day in 1973. And if the fantastic versions of He's Gone, Truckin', China> Rider, and Stella Blue before a magisterial Eyes into Sugar Mags of the Dead's set somehow don't do it for you, check out the epic hour-long encore with all three bands.
