It is amazing how quickly the Dead found their rhythm after Jerry's coma. Here, in just the thirteenth show back, the boys are firing on all cylinders. They played an absolutely stunning Stranger to close out the first half after a sweet Ramble On Rose and lengthy, luscious Bird Song. The second set starts with a nice China> Rider before a rocking Truckin out of Space into an utterly outstanding, pure and driven Morning Dew. Give the whole 1987 show a listen at Grateful Dead of the Day.
Here we have another outstanding night - the last - from the four-night run at the Fillmore West in 1969. The boys go strong right from the start with a Dark Star> Stephen> Eleven. Then they transition into Lovelight to close out the set with, of course, Pig wailing. The second set has another incredible Other One suite and then a really long, bluesy, and totally awesome Alligator> Drums> Caution. Like the other three, this show is not to be missed. Listen to it all.
