On this night at the Uptown, Jerry offered up some sweet guitar work, Bobby and Donna delivered luscious vocals, and Phil threw in some serious bombs. With a disco-fied Music Never Stopped, a righteous Scarlet> Fire, and a beautiful Comes A Time, this show is a '78 classic. Listen to all the raging music on Grateful Dead of the Day.
For the last time, the Dead graced the hallowed confines of Cornell's Barton Hall on this day in 1981. While not as exquisite as the '77 effort in the old field house, this show is not to be missed, especially the funky exchanges between Jerry and Brent in Shakedown, the thrilling Sailor> Saint> Spanish Jam, Nobody's Fault But Mine Jam in Truckin', and, above all else, the stratospheric Stella Blue. Listen to all of the magic of this last visit to Barton Hall at Grateful Dead of the Day.
Deadheads hit the jackpot on the last night of the Vegas run in 1993 as the band put together a consummate show. Jerry is particularly on, and Vinnie provides righteous, complementary keys throughout the night, not least of all on the Help> Slip> Franklin's> LL Rain. And don't miss the Hot Slots Jam for a trippy foray onto the casino floor or the ensuing Elvis Space. Check it all out over at Grateful Dead of the Day.
