With one of the few shows with both Help> Slip> Franklin's and Scarlet> Fire, the boys nailed it in Vegas on this day in 1992. Steve Miller also joined the band to close out the second set with a Spoonful> Other One> Morning Dew. Listen to the entire show with its amazing setlist at Grateful Dead of the Day.
From the confines of legendary MacArthur Court at the University of Oregon, the Dead sent out a phenomenally hot show on this day in 1969. Pig turns in a balling rap before the boys bring a raging, joyous, cacophonous end to Lovelight; Ken Babbs plays around during the masterful Dark Star; and the Other One Suite is pure bliss. But the Baby Blue, Friend of Mine, and Hurts Me Too are also some of the best versions the Dead ever played. Give it all a hearty listen.
Ken Babbs, founder and lifelong Merry Prankster, joined the Dead at that U of Oregon show on this day in 1969. Listen to the show and read more about Ken Babbs's history with the Grateful Dead.
