With the last Caution ever, a Spanish Jam that will transport you to the playa, and a seething Other One, this show is something to behold. Moreover, the boys seem to wrench everything they can out of each and every tune, making for a very special night. Fire it up at Grateful Dead of the Day.
The Dead's two-day run at Cal State Dominguez Hills brought a little of that Ventura Fairgrounds vibe into the heart of Los Angeles. And the boys delivered tons of energy to the festival atmosphere, dropping a powerful, dance-heavy second set from the Aiko opener through to the Throwing> Lovelight close. But the Terrapin and Other One> Standing on the Moon are the meaty heart of it all, rapturous in their inventiveness and verve. Give it all a listen.
