A taffy-rich Cold Rain and Snow opens the show back in 1969, and the boys are off and running. Along the way, incredible, Pig-fueled versions of Good Lovin' and Dancin' come forth all leading to a monstrous Dark Star> Stephen> Eleven> Death Don't Have No Mercy. The Dark Star is 30 minutes of pure unadulterated Dead goodness with both a Feelin' Groovy and Tighten Up jam. Give it all a listen at Grateful Dead of the Day.
On this day in ’77, the Dead played outside the States, storming Seneca College in Toronto, for the only time during that incredible year. The sold out 1500-seat gym erupted in pandemonium as soon as the band started, a high school dance on steroids and acid. Check it all out, especially the potentially best ever Lazy Lightning> Supplication and epic Estimated> Stephen> Truckin’ after Scarlet> Fire.
From the Richmond Coliseum, the second set from this day in 1985 is off the charts with a China Doll into Drums and Morning Dew out the backend of Space. Head over to Grateful Dead of the Day and check out the video.
