From Grateful Dead of the Day
Today’s 1969 show was Dick Latvala's favorite, and it is easy to see why. Pig positively bawls on Easy Wind and Good Lovin'. Then the Dead deliver pure psychedelic jamming-filled bliss as Dark Star interweaves with The Other One and Uncle John's - alternatively haunting and soaring - before the band takes it into Stephen> Eleven> Caution. The boys were light years from ordinary on this evening, at their inventive, maestrolike best throughout. Listen to the magic at Grateful Dead of the Day.
On the second night in Rochester back in '85, the Dead continued to bring the magic. Just check out the second set that opens with Revolution, then goes Estimated> Eyes with an Other One out of Space.
