In the midst of the immortal five-night run that was supposed to be the end for the Dead, the boys turned out another burner on this day in '74. The last Weather Report Suite ever tops the pristine playing in the first set. And the final, third set is filled with rockers. But it is the second that will surely melt your face as the boys slowly join Ned and Phil, turning Seastones into a more formalized jam before finding Dark Star, which eventually gives way to an earth-shattering Morning Dew. The Grateful Dead Movie was - and is - a real treat. But the work that Christopher Hazard put into remastering this video of Weather Report Suite from the fall '74 Winterland run takes it to another level. Enjoy the crystal vid and crisp sound!
