A magnificent Help> Slip> Franklin's breaks open the action, followed up by a ridiculous Rooster, starting Halloween '91 off right. We also get a somber Scarlet> Fire, a visit from Gary Duncan of Quicksilver Messenger Service, and a Dark Star with an otherworldly, spine-chilling rap by Ken Kesey, eulogizing Bill Graham who had passed away the previous week. But the Standing on the Moon, so precious and meditatively powerful, might just be the highlight of the night. And don’t forget that Werewolves encore, the last the Dead ever did. Give it all a listen and read more about the show at Grateful Dead of the Day.
Happy Halloween! And it Deadhead land, we all know that Halloween just would not be complete without a Werewolves of London. Cue it up on video here from Halloween 1985.
