You will be forgiven if you did not realize there were some great shows in late 1994. But listening to this night at the Spectrum with its Lazy River Road that is as good it gets, splendid and funky Playin'> UJB, and epic Standing on the Moon will certainly reframe your perspective on the boys' later years. In Charlotte on the first night of the 1984 fall East Coast tour, a particularly seedy trundle through West LA Fadeaway and a shadowy, direful sort of turn to Little Red Rooster provide two of the highlights of the early going. China> Rider takes the second half out of the gate, but other treats abound, including a breakneck Eyes, standout Other One, and a beautifully rendered Baby Blue encore. Listen to it all.
