On the last night before Bruce joined the band in 1990, Vince threw down alongside the rest of the boys at MSG. The second set from this show is something else with blistering, raging jams on a 25-minute Scarlet> Fire, a monster Terrapin, and a scorching Other One. On the Dead’s fourth show of the Europe ’74 tour and first outside London, the band delivers a juicy Truckin', all smoky and jazz fueled before entering into some spacey territory that leads to a magnificent Mind Left Body Jam. There is also a top-shelf stand-alone Scarlet and a brooding, mind-expanding Weather Report Suite in the first set along with a sweet Eyes, outstanding Half-Step, and so much more in the second.
